COUNSELING PHILOSOPHIES AND METHODS

I utilize an Integral psychological perspective in my counseling practice that entails holistic and transpersonal views of personality and human development. Different people have different needs, so I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, Emotional Freedom Therapy, Ecotherapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Depth Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Existential Therapy, meditation and spiritual guidance. The type of approach used will be determined by the insight that both the patient and I have about the progress of therapy.

Psychotherapy is most successful when the client is an active partner. This means I am not normally going to give you advice or immediate solutions to your problems. I may use many different methods to address the problems you identify.

Therapy is a process wherein the therapist acts as a guide to assist the patient in gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and their life. Through this process the individual may gain more insight into the causes of their problems and become able to make decisions and changes that have a more positive impact in their life.
